There are some places in the world that simply makes us scream for joy. It can be the mouthwatering food, refreshing drinks, the charming history, remarkable hospitality, or the breathtaking surroundings.
Nevertheless, what’s frequently missing is a personal connection to a place. Yes, you may live somewhere and be in love with it but is a huge difference.
Our roots operate much deeper than, food and drinks, history, scenery and great service from strangers.
A place away from a person residence will always be in the back of their mind, with the question …When will I go to inserts motherland here? The connection is different for every individual whether it’s a hometown, county, state, country or connecting with family members (including ancestors).
The opportunity may seem non-existent at least it was for me for many years.I remember talking to friends whom visited and explaining the peace within themselves just for making the trip.I always wished for a better job and when the better job came around I always wished to save enough money. Then luckily one day my father moved backed to my motherland a.k.a Puerto Rico and the experience was life changing. The only problem is I still didn’t feel complete. Why may you ask? The reason is simple I’m not from one part of Puerto Rico; I’m from two which is safe to say why I had to come back.
Now living in New York is great yet as we all know the crazy amount of money it is to live there. So taking another trip back to Puerto Rico felt like a hypothetical situation yet the longer I waited, the more dreaded going. One week I got news that my mother’s mother was in the hospital. That’s when it was clear as day I already visited Guyama which has a fantastic nightlife and beaches if anyone is interested, but I never went to San Lorenzo.
Not only as soon as I arrived did I feel like a hole has been fill. Immediately cried when I met my grandmother for the first time since I was four years old.The difference is San Lorenzo is more farm like.
So I’m telling you to go no matter what the reason is one should always be proud of their heritage and get to experience where they come from regardless of where it is.

Ummmm, this post leaves me wanting more! The pics are beautiful, luve the fan and that $5 purchase! But craving to see more pics of the beatiful homes (great shots), and more importantly the details about the location(neighborhood) and the diffrences about the two parts of Puerto Rico, in a nut shell lol, ” I want more”! Otherwise great post!
Thanks my love I wanted to but then my post would of been a four hour read.I’m planning on going back in the summer I should make a huge comparison post then lol.Guyamama is great for beaches and nightlife where San Lorenzo is extremely small look like a toy town which I think is adorable but they have an amazing view of greenery based on being location on the hills is a mist of farms 🙂
