Do you have a hidden treasure in your wardrobe? That special something you’ve been dying to wear. What happens every time you try to wear that “special something”? Do you get frustrated because you can’t think of what could go with it? That my dear is a fashion block; the condition of being unable to think of what to wear or proceed with styling. The same situation happens to me every time I tried on an original 80’s leather jacket handed down from my mother. Then one day I decided to go for it and not over think my outfit. Viola! It worked my fashion block came to end by sticking to the totally radical 80’s decade. Hopefully, I didn’t disappoint you, and this is not a styling tribute to the Flash Dance movie. (maybe next time)

Slip: DIESEL

1.If you’re running late somewhere, don’t rely on an ordinary t-shirt.Replace it with a slip. Of course, a slip outside the bedroom is daring but trust me; you can wear your underwear as outerwear and get away with it.(SHHH! we keep it as our dirty little secret.) The trick, when dressed in a slip, is to style it with layers that are less provocative. It helps balance the risk factor and gives an edge to your look.

Leggings: UNIQLO

2. Whether you love it or hate it, black leggings are not going anywhere.Substituting stockings in the winter, I can admit I own many (of course not all solid, they vary in texture). At some point in the ’80s, women decided they didn’t need pants, and leggings would do the trick.Fast forward to 2016: I will have to emphasize is not appealing to see “all that your momma gave you.” Whenever wearing, leggings make sure to layer it is not jeans.

3. Remember the rule; girls can not wear skirts shorter than arms length. The principal will make sure you get a fair warning before detention. I believe this rule came out in the 80’s when miniskirts were all the rage, and I get the reason why. On the other hand just like a slip is all about how you style it. Luckily for me, the miniskirt trend never really left I wore a cinched version with a precious gold zipper, and it blended perfectly with the black leggings.

4. Accessorize and Style reveal your inner 80’s bombshell.

Oversize earrings √ brightly colored makeup √ and oh how can you forget the BIG HAIR.

I’m wearing the most luxurious hair I ever felt. It was so easy to clip on and curl and the color matched superbly to my natural hair. (is also dye-friendly) The name of the hair company is IRRESTIBLE ME. The hair is 100% human Remy hair at affordable prices.

  1. Loving these rules, I will now do an arm length check for all my mini skirts. I wish more ladies didn’t regard leggings as jeans. Will be testing this out on my boyfriends vintage bomber jacket. Liking the all black too

  2. I always loved the belts from the 80s. The way they would sit asymmetrical on the hips. That is a fun look I think should be brought back. You are looking smoking hot!
