You know what is doubling more than ever? MOMMY BLOGGERS! In honor of Mother’s day which lands on Sunday (this is a friendly reminder), I interviewed the most dressed to kill mom blogger Glendaly, creator of  LA MAMA HADA  which means the mom fairy in Spanish.Along with Glendaly, there are about 4.2 million mothers (as stated by e-marketer) discussing the best doll for their mini-me all the way to charming ballerina flats you won’t trip over while you handle your mommy duties.Don’t expect the typical blog posts: 10 quick meals to make your kiddies or how to make a cheesy D.I.Y picture frame. This dashing mama focuses on beauty, fashion, and lifestyle for the moms who need a quick read or the fashion enthusiasts that just gets it.

ONCE GLENDALY ARRIVED FOR THE INTERVIEW, I TOLD HER TO RAID MY CLOSET.AFTER SELECTING A FEW OUTFITS, DRINKING A FEW CUPS OF WINE AND HAVING A FEW LAUGHS, THE INTERVIEW BEGUN.

1.When did you discover your love for fashion?

I have always been fascinated with clothes; I remember always being obsessed with dressing Barbies. Playing around with their shoe collection was my favorite, though. I discovered my love for fashion freshman year of high school. During that time, I was experimenting with my styling, and I found my love for magazine subscriptions!

2.What/ who is your biggest inspiration?

I don’t have one inspiration – everything inspires me. I love watching strangers & paying attention to the way they dress. Same thing with my friends and family. I also find inspiration in other mediums, like paintings, photography backgrounds, videography. Even in unusual objects like the texture of a lamp shade or the colors on a vase.

3.What/who is your child’s named after and your fav thing about them?

My mother-in-law suggested the name. I’m not sure where she found it, but my boyfriend and I don’t know a Kaelynn, so we thought it was a fit. It’s also a bit unique – it’s just perfect. My favorite thing about her has to be that she’s loving. It always amazes me when she gives random hugs & kisses to people. She’s so welcoming and embracing. Those are critical qualities to me.

4.How do you style your daughter?
I typically pick out a few outfits for her & let her decide which one she likes most. Or if I pick out her clothes, I let her pick out her shoes or her accessories. I try to get her involved in styling herself as much as possible. I can’t wait ’till she starts entirely dressing.

5.Any plans for mother’s day?
Not really. There’s a good chance I’ll be staying home with my baby and my boyfriend, just enjoying their company. I don’t need much else!
6.If your daughter will like to follow in your footsteps in fashion what advice would you give her?
I would tell her: never be afraid to express yourself. Clothes can change your overall mood and vibe – it’s one of the many reasons why I love fashion! If those funky printed pants make you feel amazing – rock them!

7.Dressing before pregnancy and after, what’s the difference?
My style has changed so much since becoming a mom! Now that I’m a lot older and wiser, I feel like my style is slowly starting to reflect that. I’m excited to be entering a new part of my life – I really can’t wait to flaunt older Mama Glenda to the world.

8.What are practical styling tips you can give to stylish mothers?
  • Invest in quality pieces. They will last longer.
  • Black Ankle Booties are a MUST.
  • Comfort is the ultimate key. Are you sure you’re down to chase the kiddies in 6-inch stilettos?

9.Favorite celeb mom and why?

I honestly don’t have one. As far as favorite mommies go, I’m totally obsessed with my friends who are moms. You all are all bosses!

10.Any advice on mothers who will like to get into blogging?

You are capable of doing whatever you put your mind too. Don’t ever feel like because you’re a  mom; you have to put your dreams on hold. I know as a mom, always putting everyone else’s needs before yours is a part of the job, but being a happy mom makes a happy home. Even if it’s only making time once a week, always do whatever sets your little soul on fire. <3

  1. “Now that I’m older and wiser – my style is begging to reflect that” , this is a fair point. My style grows with me while I observe different patterns in others. Love seeing Mom’s still expressing their style beyond kids. Some people I think, feel they have to adopt a ‘mom’ uniform.

  2. I don’t have a favorite mommy blogger but I loved the interview here! It is so great that she doesn’t stop her dreams just because she had a child. I think that is important for all people! The dreams may change but you still work towards something!

  3. I really love the different styles you presented. You are able to wear them well.

  4. Awesome still! I agree the clothing and accessories you put on can change your mood. I love watching people EVERYWHERE and seeing their style. Sometimes I find inspiration for myself that way.

  5. great read! I’m new to the blogging world so it was very inspiring to read some of your answers!

  6. “Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!”
