lace front wigs

I struggled with my hair ever since I was a toddler. I’ve researched different trends to help efficiently manage my hair wigs. Coconut oil kept popping up in the Google search feed.As I decided to try the Coconut oil trend, something magical happened a couple of weeks ago. I received a survey about my hair from Influenster. It felt as Influenster was reading my mind and knew about my hair struggles. Answering the survey honestly, I wrote out the issues I had with my hair.  A few weeks later I received a complimentary box filled with L’oreal Ever Curl products.

  •  Hydra Charge Shampoo
  • Hydra Charge Conditioner
  • Sculpt and Firm Cream-Gel

L'oreal Evercurl products with Coconut oil

I wanted to see what the coconut oil buzz was all about. Before I review the L’oreal Evercurl products, let me explain my hair journey with you. As a toddler, I remember my mother daily struggle of combing my hair. She repeatedly mumbled, “what am I supposed to do with this.” My mom hair type was soft, shiny and limp, where my father hair is more brittle and coarse. When my parents had me my hair type was a mix of both, leading it to look dry (even if it was softer than a baby behind) and a head full of frizz.

On behalf of having a head full of frizz, my mother nicknamed me “grilla” which means cricket in Spanish. I laughed till this very day every time she calls me that, it reminds me of everything she went through to help my hair become more manageable.

I remember the many perms and different home remedies she whipped up. Eventually, it worked. My tight natural curls loosen up, and the products made my hair more comb worthy. As I moved out of my mother house in my late teens and started to learn how to do my hair, I  found myself mumbling underneath my breath like my mom did when I was a toddler. My hair became dry, frizzy and hard to comb again. I try to figure out her home remedies but I never fully succeeded. I decided to cut it shorter, therefore, I can save time trying to tame it.

Now that you know my hair journey you can feel my excitement when I found out the products include coconut oil. I heard coconut oil has many benefits for health purposes, is also a great essential for dry hair. The oil has other benefits to creating gorgeous hair such as:

  • Deep Conditioning
  • Daily Detangler
  • Defeat Dandruff
  • Fast Hair Growth
  • Protection From Sun Damage

In addition to coconut oil being an advantage in these products, I saw the products are:

  • 100% Sulfate-Free,
  • No Harsh Salts
  • No Parabens
  • 100% Vegan

These are positive factors for me in any hair care products.

My L’oreal Ever Curl Products ReviewL'oreal Evercurl products with Coconut oil

The winter has been harsh on my hair with the bipolar weather changes. Due to the snow, rain and the high and lows in temperature, my hair has been duller than ever.I decided it was finally time to give L’oreal Ever Curl a try.

I opened the shampoo, and the smell of refreshing coconuts filled up my bathroom. I put a generous amount in my hand and scrubbed my scalp a few times before I started to rinse.I closed it and placed it on the side of my bathtub. As I reached out and grabbed the conditioner, I noticed the shampoo top could not close tightly. After I had put the conditioner in my hair, I grabbed the shampoo and tried different ways to help the product stop leaking. After a few minutes the leaking stop. However, the top itself never closed tightly again. The same happen to the conditioner.

Trying to keep positive, I washed off the container and dried my hair off with a towel. Afterward, I used the L’oreal Ever Curl Sculpt Cream Gel. Unlike the shampoo and conditioner, the top was easy to close. The gel itself seem to look like a spiral staircase inside the bottle. The white gel conditions my hair while the clear gel-sculpted my hair.

The photos were all taken after I used the three products. As you can tell my hair is still frizzy. However, the frizz is not as drastic as me waking up in the morning; The Coconut oil in the products helped me comb out my hair quickly. It also gives my hair a luxurious shine.I would continue using the L’oreal Sculpt and Firm Cream Gel. I admire this product for leaving my hair flake free and smooth.

  1. I am so going to try these products, I have really coarse curly hair and could use some help. Thaks for sharing these products

  2. I haven’t had much luck with these L’Oreal products or coconut oil. The major problem for me is that they’ve made my scalp so itchy! I’ve never really had any scalp problems before, so I think it may be an allergy! 🙁

    1. Oh no maybe it is again like I said The Shampoo and Conditioner wasn’t life changing but it was ok for what it is. Maybe you should find something without oil instead.

  3. I love your top!

And I use have used coconut oil before, but have never tried the L’Oreal products before.

  4. I may need to try this for my curly hair. I actually just tried Almond Oil for the first time today and I think I like it!

  5. My younger sister has hair very similar to your texture and I know it drives her crazy to the point that most of the time she just wears it in a bun. I think I’ll have to tell her about this, if it helped you out. The combing is the hardest part for her.
