Growing up I only associated the color pink with frilly dresses, Barbie dolls, and cotton candy. When I enter high school, it had a different meaning for me. One of the first girls I befriended mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. As a friend, I didn’t know how to respond. I didn’t comprehend. Nor did I want to emotionally but I knew I had to be there for her. Along with my friend side, we educated ourselves on what breast cancer is, what causes it and my new found relevance to the color pink. From that day on I’ve met amazing women of different paths of life who have beaten breast cancer. I look up to every one of them. On behalf of their strength and high spirits, the month of October is dedicated to THINK PINK!
I teamed up with fellow vlogger Introducing Jinx to create a Think Pink makeup look. While creating our Think Pink looks we discuss how to detect breast cancer and tips on self-confidence. You can check out the video below:
First and foremost is always making sure to check your breast. Use either hand light put pressure, testing for lumps around the surface. Then pushing the hand down for pressing firmer to examine the deeper tissue. From here on, if anything seems out of the usual such as lumps discharge even redness call a doctor to make sure everything ok. Also, note every bump doesn’t mean you automatically have breast cancer so don’t drive yourself crazy. If by chance you do get diagnosed remember is not the end of the world ask your doctor what are the next steps and try to sign up for the meetup to help you keep pushing forward.
Introducing Jinx and I never had breast cancer, but we have been around people who did. From experience many women I know who beaten breast cancer has an extended period of having low self-esteem. I understand it, and I’m not going to say well get over it and build your self-confidence overnight. It doesn’t work that way with or without having breast our insecurities can eat us alive. Moreover, we focus on positivity and giving our energy to things that can make us happy that will help each woman push forward.
After discussing different ways of detecting breast cancer and promoting positivity and creating a healthy self-esteem boost we finalized our makeup looks with Esqido mink eyelashes. Esqido is a handcrafted eyelash brand known for their excellent quality mink lashes. Not only is the quality superb comparing to beauty supply store eyelashes you can wear Esqido eyelashes up to 30 times for newbies and 60 times for repeat users. (Insert the surprise face emoji here). Actually, what won me over is not the dazzling lashes themselves but the eyelash glue they carry. The companion eyelash glue like their other products comes in a gorgeous rose gold packaging. My mouth drop when I was the size of the Companion eyelash glue and how simple and easy it was my eyelashes on. I didn’t need to double dip at all and it stuck on my eyelids automatically.
Introducing Jinx is wearing BFF, and I am Wearing Viola.
