Using clip-ins may seem scary at first. However, the process is not the most challenging thing in the world. Sometimes I need to change my look for a photo shoot, or I enjoy using the extra length of hair for my night shift at the bar. Recently my coworker at the bar gave me Kylie Jenner extensions since it matches the teal highlights I have in my hair. My face glows immediately once I held the Kylie Jenner’s extensions in my hand because it’s been challenging to find good quality ombre clip-on extensions. To help keep up with the premium, quality of the extensions I use Kenra Professional Haircare.

The items I use for this tutorial is below:

  • Conair Mini Brush
  • Comb
  • Black Hair tie
  • Flat Iron
  • Platinum Snail Anti-Aging Shampoo and Conditioner by Kenra Professional
  • Platinum Snail CC Creme by Kenra Professional
  •  Shaping Spray by Kenra Professional
  •  Platinum Heat Block by Kenra Professional

First Thing first I want to wash my hair extensions so it can be as soft and clean as my natural hair. I use the  Kenra Platinum Snail Anti-Aging Shampoo and Conditioner on my extensions. The benefits of the shampoo and conditioner are enriched with protein. Once I use the shampoo and conditioner, it leaves hair silky and smooth. It also has excellent ingredients to help strengthen hair to become manageable and effortless. After I use the shampoo and conditioner, I grab my Conair mini brush and glide through the hair to make sure it’s free of knots. Once I made sure each strand of my extensions is knot free the next step is to straighten it.

I use my friend flat iron since my Remington wet to straight flat iron gave out on me. If I did have my flat iron, I would set the flat iron to 340 degrees because I don’t like it to overheat the hair. Another way to help the hair by shedding easily is by using the Kenra Professional Platinum Heat Block. The benefits of the Heat Block spray is enriched with Bee Propolis for exceptional heat protection. It also allows for clean release from styling tools such as the flat iron.

After I gently flatten each strand of hair is time to clip in the extensions to my natural hair. I use a comb and section three lines horizontally. However, I don’t section the tracks all at once I start from the very bottom of the back of my head and work my way up. For the first set of clip on I use the one with most hair (usually has four sets of clips aligned at the edge of the extension), this should always be the bottom for length. Every other extension is used to help the hair appear fuller and even. Throughout the process, the top part of my hair is held with a black hair tie

Once all the clip-ins are set in place is time to let go of the section of my hair. To help blend my natural hair with the extensions, I use the Kenra Professional Shaping Spray. The benefits of the spray are alcohol-free which allows maximizing moisture retention. It also helps my natural hair stay in place since it usually frizzes up in this extreme summer. To also help blend my natural hair with the extensions I use Platinum Snail CC Creme by Kenra Professional. The creme helps tame by dry ends due to the hair dye.

You may find the Kenra collection on Ulta.
