Teyana Taylor is making us fall in love with Hip-Hop again with her latest music video. If you guys haven’t watched her old school influenced video “Gonna Love Me,” see it now. The video shows her with a doobie in her hair and big gold hoops. It feels so nostalgic as, like the famous singer I grew up in Harlem New York, this look was typical. In an ode to Teyana Taylor and reviving Hip Hop I recreated her cute gold grills look below.

As the above photograph, the look is your girl next door with an edge. The basics are gathering a red snapback, grey tank top, two hair ties, a couple of rope like gold chains and of course the gold grills. You don’t have to pay an arm and a leg to get the shiny gold grills. I got mine for only ten bucks at www.blingblowout.com. Once you gathered the accessories is makeup time.

Although I love dipping my paws in makeup, I got help by my dear friend Lylla Abassi. The look that Teyana Taylor has is very matte with a soft sheen on the lips. You can go full out and purchase the items, or you can use whatever you have in your makeup bag. First, we treated my winter skin with Farm House Fresh 3 Milk Moisturizer. The skincare is now cover next is time to paint the face.

About Teyana Talor matte look, Hudabeauty Faux Filter Foundation in Tres Leches and Chocolate Mousse is already matte.( No Need to add a mattifying spray). As for covering up my dark circles and blemishes, Lylla used Hudabeauty overachiever concelaer in Peanut Butter. She filled my brows with Black Opal brow powder. Then Lyla creates d created a soft glam look on my eyelids using Morphe Bronzed Mocha Palette. Since Teyana Taylor eyelashes are short and sweet in the picture, we used my natural lashes topped of with Rimmel Mascara.

To define the face Lylla used RCMA cream contour from the VK palette and Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit. For the barbie pink lips Lylla mix Black Radiance Creamy lipstick and Too Faced lip injection extreme gloss. To make sure the makeup pops in the camera set it with Wet & Wild Phoo Pocus Natura Spray. Don’t forget to add the fake Monroe black dot near your upper lip to complete the look.

Lastly, put on all the accessories and part your hair into two braids. Since my hair is not super long, I created the braids with a cheap wig from Amazon. Now the look is put together, go in front of your mirror and try to make those swift Teyana Taylor dancing moves or not I’ll let you decide!
