Accessories are my first love when it comes to anything fashion related. I recall playing with my mother expensive gold bangles and figuring out which earrings to try on next. As I age, I realize my addiction is no different, still layering on jewels when I can. I came a long way from a musical ballerina jewelry box to a jewelry armoire mirror stand. Even when I casually dress it doesn’t mean I stop there, this cute leaf necklace from BoutiqueLovin made this outfit complete.

Although it is spring and everyone and their mother is parading around in floral accessories. However, I believe the leaf necklace is a classic staple. The beauty of this necklace you can wear it on its own or you can layer it with your favorite pendant. With a thirty inch long chain, it makes it easy for you to have options.

To match back to the essence of nature this necklace resembles. I believe a small photoshoot around Connecticut was a no brainer for me. Not only does my partner live there, but I also enjoy the weekend getaway to escape the craziness of NYC. Nothing like a great relaxing escape!

To be precise where exactly in Connecticut my partner lives is in South Norwalk, or what locals call, Sono. My favorite part of Sono is the “Oyster Shell Park.” Ironically Sono is has a nickname: Oyster Town. The nickname is from the high demand it had from the wealthy in the late 1800s. Walking across the park with my leaf necklace swaying in the slight breeze, felt like a match made in heaven.

If you want this necklace, you can click here. As you can tell Boutique Lovin not only has it in silver it comes in gold, rose gold, and copper. Above all, the Amazon shop also has options to buy it as earrings or if matchy-matchy is your style; they even have the opportunity to buy it as a set. As a bonus, the website even explains the step-by-step process in making this cute accessory.

First, the owner takes a real leaf and soaks in water for about twenty days. After it is finished soaking, the owner lays out it out under the sun for decomposition. In other words, it decays. After it slightly rots the next step is to clean out the mesophyll with a cotton swab. After that, this step helps get the leaf venation ready.

Now comes the fun part. It is time to make the leaf wearable. Using copper to fill in the leaf nervation help the leaf not change its shape. Therefore, the pendant  is complete with copper one can leave it as is or plate it with gold, silver, or rose gold. With such a time consuming process the retail for only about thirteen dollars seem like a steal!
