I lived in almost every borough in NYC, but I find myself always moving back to Brooklyn. For the sole purpose is Brooklyn is where I get most of my inspiration from. The Brooklyn art scene is something you can’t ignore; it’s outspoken, abstract, and underrepresented. A close friend of mine, Paloma Zapata has made her mark in the art scene and invited me to an art gallery. Of course, it gave me a reason to glam up. I dress my eyes with Marc Jacobs new eyeshadow palette called eye-conic.

🎵”I’ll let him get what he want, he buy me Yves Saint Laurent
And the new whip, when I go fast as a horse, I got the trunk in the front”🎵- Cardi B
Cardi B latest song, ” Bodack Yellow” came to mind when I received a full-size sample from Influenster. As I jammed to the song, I open the packaging of the Yves Saint Laurent Matte Foundation. I was not only excited to try the designer foundation, but I felt lucky because I ran out of my current liquid Foundation from Makeup Forever.
School has started for many kids and for us adults summer Fridays is sadly coming to an end. I’m not ready to kiss these hot days goodbye. To not go into immediate summer withdrawals, I planned a trip to the beautiful island of Dominican Republic. I can already feel the warm beige sand on my feet. However, I ran into a dilemma. My dilemma is my friends and family will like to do a group photo shoot. In honor of Labor Day weekend, and everyone has to wear a blue bathing suit. Luckily for me, Zaful came to my rescue.
Move over Clinique there a new player in town for mixing skin care ingredients in your wearable makeup. The name is ITCosmetics, and it’s what my skin been craving for. I went to the brand’s exhibit in New York City a few weeks ago, and I felt wowed the minute I enter the room. The exhibition made me learn how to correct my skin imperfections in addition to mastering different beauty tricks.

I woke up groggy, spreading out my right hand looking for my phone. Once I found my phone, I saw on my cell phone screen a notification from WordPress. WordPress is my blogging platform, and they wished me happy two-year Blogiversery. My grogginess immediately went away, and the excitement made me get out of my bed and jump for joy. Two whole years I thought to myself, wow look at what I’ve accomplished. Although I reached the two-year mark, I feel as I’m still in the begging steps of my journey. I decided before I focus on continuing working hard I celebrated with a blogger brunch.
I can personally count on both hands how many interviews I arrive in wearing my natural curls, versus wearing my hair straight. Unfortunately, all the jobs I’ve attained, I interview for the job with straight hair. A part of me feels as I gave into society standards when I sport a straight hair-do just to land the job.Now keep in mind, I’m not speaking for every curly-haired girl; I’m solely speaking from my experience. When my mentor invited me to the CurlFest in Prospect Park, I had a flashback of my horrible experience. When she explained to me what Curlfest is about, I automatically fell in love with the concept a festival celebrating natural curls.
A few weeks ago I attended a blogging mixer at New York City’s secret social restaurant, “The Parlor.” My friend Kevin Shahroozi (a high-end fashion designer) extended out his invitation to me. I panicked, my hair is dirty with excess oils from various beauty products. I wondered, “How can I pull this off in just a couple of hours.” Luckily for me, I opened up my beauty cabinet and heard an angel choir singing “ahh.” My answer appears right in front of my eyes, Hask Hair dry shampoos.
