Frida Kahlo a world renowned Mexican artist whose troubles didn’t wear her down. Not only did she physically had a commanding presence she lived her life to her rules, fighting each obstacle that came her way.In her words

“I was born a bitch, I was born a painter”.

I wholeheartedly admit never was a great painter myself yet I see art as my daily inspiration when I think about what to wear.I admire the aesthetic of one mind and how it can carry a sheet of paper, canvas, clothes, etc.Frida was unlike other females, during the outstanding flapper season Frida stuck to the traditional culture of roots.

Casa Azul means blue house in Spanish; it was the house she was born and at the age 47 died inside. She traveled around the world with her husband and when she had matrimony problems she decided to move back. They did get back together and (Diego) her husband moved in.They expanded her childhood home, and I love how the Botanical Garden tried to bring it back to life in the greenhouse.(a house where they persevere plants and flowers)

I did visit the gallery part, and the paintings were very limited it showed a few of her sketches, her fruit art, her last self-portrait and a few others.I’m strung out on how limited it was since the tickets are priced at $35.00.Which was a reasonable price I thought at the time, then I went to the gallery in only 10 minutes and thought otherwise? This did not wear me down since the Botanical Garden did make it a cultural event. For example, when I entered it was a live mariachi band and walking skeletons. It resembles Frida Mexican heritage holiday “Dia De Los Muertos”(Day of The Dead).I enjoyed the show and walked to the taco truck, yet the line was literally at a max, so I decided to eat at the Cantina instead.I appreciated the drink voucher and enjoyed the passion fruit margarita before I decided to get some goodies at the gift shop.

If you treasure gardening and interior design, the botanical garden gift shop is a sight to see.I wanted to buy everything. However, I wanted to get an item that has a connection to the event.Of course, most items were overpriced, so I decided to get the useful, affordable things.

  1. What fascinating artwork! I’m always so impressed by people who put their stuff out there like this! <3

  2. I love this! I love sugar skulls and the skull looks like a sugar skull. I can barely draw a stock person, I wish I could paint.

  3. I learned a little about Frieda on my own after I finished school, and I remember wondering to myself, why I hadn’t learned about her at school. I love her story and I wish I would have learned about it much earlier than I had. I really wanted to check out this exhibit but I didn’t get a chance to. I’m so glad you got to experience it and enjoyed yourself. 🙂

  4. “It certainly is nearly unthinkable to come across well-advised men and women on this matter, still you come across as like you realize whatever you’re posting on! Excellent”

  5. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog
and was curious what all is needed to get setup? I’m
assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100% positive. Any tips or advice would be greatly
    appreciated. Cheers

  6. “I really like your blog.. very nice colors & theme. Did you design this website yourself or did you hire someone to do it for you? Plz reply as I’m looking to construct my own blog and would like to know where u got this from. thanks a lot”
