When the magnetic lashes trend first came out on the beauty scene, I was skeptical. I had a friend tell me, don’t waste your time and money. It doesn’t work. So I decided not to jump on the bandwagon until now. My best friend recently tried it and swore it’s so easy to put on; she will never go back to trying regular eyelash strips again. I always have a love/hate relationship trying on lashes, so I decided to give magnetic lashes a try.

Now I never tried magnetic lashes before, and thinking about trying it for the first time has me a bit weary. The reason being, I feel as I don’t know what I’m doing. All I know is you apply a special eyelash glue, and the lashes automatically attach on. As I was searching online for magnetic lashes, I came across CosyWay®. The package comes with seven pairs of lashes ranging from natural-looking to ultra-glam styles. It also includes two eyelash glue and an applicator. This appeal to me not only for the range in styles. But I feel as if messed up trying it on for the first time; I have many chances to try again.

On the back of the package, it had four easy-to-follow directions:

  1. Shake the eyeliner before use
  2. Apply two-layer of eyeliner at least and let it dry
  3. Lay lashes on your eyeliner, the magnet will attach.
  4. Adjust the position according to your need

As I read the directions, my immediate thought is it doesn’t seem to bad. Calming the opposing views of me accidentally stabbing myself in the eye, I took a deep breath and gave it a try. Following the first step, I am shaking the eyeliner like a polaroid picture. After I gave the eyeliner a few shakes, I apply it on my eyelids as I would my regular eyeliner. I also use a few on my lashes just if the magnetic lashes didn’t attach; I realize later this was unnecessary. Soon after, I grab the applicator out of the package and a pair of lashes. I pick a style that was not to natural but not to glam as well.

I try the magnetic lashes for the first time on a Monday, and although I was going out to eat at a nearby restaurant, I didn’t want my lashes to appear to extra. Holding the magnetic lashes with the applicator, I bring it near my eyelids, and it did attach right away. However, I felt the position the lash held on to was too far up, so I detach it. Then I gave it another try, and voila, it went on smoothly.

The end of the lashes was coming up for air, so I did apply for lash glue, and then it attaches like a charm. A trick I like to do when the false lashes are visually not your own I pinch it together with my actual lashes. Squealing out loud, it is easy to do. Applying the lashes took no time, no mess, and later on, it was so easy to take off, pain-free.
