She is measure From the roots of her hair down to the shape of her toenails. Just like you, she scoured the pages of Vogue magazine before she can even talk. (Side note Vogue is similar to elementary school for fashionistas. There are far more interesting magazines such as Pop, More, Nylon. Her guilty favorite is Company Street Style Edit a magazine constructed for bloggers.) She grew older and saw fashion shows on the internet while her family is tune into the television. Fast-forward to the time of her being a junior in a fashion based college studying fashion publications.

The first day of taking a fashion magazine course in the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising was exciting. It seemed like a dream come true. Until she realized, what was wrong with the industry. Brainwashing females on how the ideal women should look like! Especially sex-crazed Cosmopolitan magazine is the perceiving woman as second-class human being. Let’s face reality mannequins don’t have to eat or workout out. They’re still life factory-made objects. So why is the apparel industry so keen to making women feel they should look like them. She quickly switched her major to fashion merchandising. Although is still the same industry is a different aesthetic.

The art of this roller coaster industry is the clothes itself.

The construction, the quality, the texture, the visual aspects are so much more alluring to me than trying to be like someone else. When she examines her wardrobe (designer deeds and non-branded) is a representation of her. She quickly gets dressed running late to her job as a fashion assistant makes a way out of her cramped studio apartment, sigh, “The New Yorker Life”, tunes out the world through music and walks with her head held high. For everyone should carry confidence as his/her top fashion accessory. (At least the start of your day!) She continues walking, and she bumps into a friend who is laughing. The friend stops laughing and says, “Who do you think you are a model.”

In her head, she thought to herself why not?
Is it because of her height, her weight, or the so-called imperfections the world makes people feel like hell for having? The truth is everyone has his/her perception of beautiful, so embrace yours.

P.S.

I’m making a transition from Tumblr To WordPress because of course is where bloggers belong.I’m happy to become part of your family:P
