The New Year will continue accepting different cultures, sexuality, politics, and religion. Society will keep searching for ways to better the environment. The world will focus on green movement hello have you see how late summer started.Global warming has a huge effect on the fashion forecast of Fall/Winter 2016, analyzing the overall theme of the season as Modern 70’s.

Retrospect: camouflage the simplicity of positivity and love for all. A simple floral and bold flat block of color is a right of passage continuing with rich hues of chocolate, brown sugar, chestnut, sage, green fern and dark Basil.

Geometric shapes are constructed in a wide range of fabrics to enhance the look of the decade. The tight fitted silhouettes are decreasing going for a more relax feminine tailor look. Other themes even play along the spirit of this decade. The title reads, “How to dress for Fall/Winter 2016” yet I’m not saying to go out and purchase the shiny black platform shoes. This is preparing you on what you’re going to see in stores, simply noted always is true and dress like yourself.

Theme 1: Bohemian Renaissance

bohiemianrenassance

While we’re slowly saying goodbye to summer, the laid back boho style is luckily transcending into fall with a royal twist. Bohemian Renaissance is a tale untold of strong woman and men and their rugged adventures. A love of medieval romance the color tones adapt to air rustic surfaces and the beautiful green earth. Materials used are leather, jersey, velvet, lace, and Jacquard. Essential items are lace-up leather pants, pleated skirts, embellishments, mohair and don’t put away your prom dresses you will be layering this comfortable silhouette for the fall. Highlighting the essential item is ponchos. You’re probably thinking yuck ponchos right. You’re your not trying to take a page out of Ugly Betty horrific scene, but every stylist just need a few pointers to see how this trend can work. The Aztec prints and a blanket feel give off the cozy vibes. Think winter and Swiss Miss hot chocolate with larger marshmallows (I know, I know I’m pushing it right) Just ponder about it; throw on a beaded accessory or a white collared shirt underneath. Mix it up with fringe (just the right amount) and you look with go from “ugh” to lux. Beware fringe will be EVERYWHERE! If you’re a true fashion addict, you hate looking like everyone else right? If you want to get in touch with your creative soul check out the video below on how to make your own D.I.Y. Fringe Bag.

Let’s keep the vibe going, accessories to look out for are eye-catching chokers, repeating the chain belts phase and palm bracelets.

Theme 2: Entho Warrior

ethno warrior

The entho warrior was created with inspirations of worldly art and 70’s modern. The look has a more costume feel to it, best described as a punk rocker adapting to tribal prints. Are about old piece goods with a modern twist, for example, embellished elements create a one-of-a-kind feel. Materials mainly used are silk chiffon, lace, leather, and different textures of jacquard. Outerwear is durable combining mixed fabrics including shearling, wool, and Astrakhan. (What is astrakhan? The tightly curled fleece used of a newborn lamb fetal. The material is imitated as a knit or woven fabric; The fabric is loop on the surface of the clothing or accessory. It will always have a slight sheen to it.)

The floor duster coat, peasant blouse, traditional cardigan, shearling jacket, quilted jacket, turtlenecks, and mid-calf dress are essential items.

Let’s focus on the peasant blouse. This flowy silhouette is known for summer. How to transition to fall and winter is easier than you think. Think casual you can easily pair it with a midi skirt or a flare jean. We are slowly getting over the skinny jean stage but not entirely. A blazer is always a timeless piece and will be great to help you stay warm. Just remember don’t wear a crochet vest to try to tie the pieces together this is overkill to the 70’s trend. Peasant blouse is usually made in a more light fabric yet for the colder season designers are mixing fabrics to make it easier to wear.

Silver, Gold, Burgundy is the highlighted colors yet for an ethno warrior feels be ready to see all colors of the rainbow.

Theme 3: Play Time

play time

Talking about all colors of the rainbow the next theme will make you feel like you’re back in kindergarten. The theme plays off on your natural self. In the world where magic is reality and rules no longer apply (Hello New York Fashion Scene). I love this theme because playfulness, not mistaken for immaturity is why I love fashion. The key to this idea is all in the designs. Is how the designer structure uses bold colors? A few other elements to this theme are op art and graphics. Op art is recognized in the late 1960’s early 1970’s.The style is a visual art that uses optical illusions.

Considering most New Yorker’s have a color disorder once the winter season hits “Play Time” is refreshing.

An essential silhouette to this theme is an asymmetrical trend that will never go out of style in my opinion. The look includes a diagonal fall of skirt hems; multiple layers and V-shaped slits up the thighs that make it like two different trends in one piece. Some of the looks include fringe, as I mentioned before fringe will be everywhere including shoes.

Theme 4: Oh Baby I Got the Blue’s for Jeans

bluehue

Denim is experiencing an alteration for Fall/Winter 2016-17, modernizing silhouettes with a new reach of stimulating, fashion-forward styles. Swayed by aesthetics resulting from the worlds of sport, workwear, DIY philosophy and more. Renovating everything from color, wash, and surface and details 70’s Chic Denim, a must-have that pays homage to retro denim styles to create pieces with a clean, present-day charm.

Patchwork prints implemented in tonal hints of blue. Fresh lines add sophistication to simple cuts, as seen in the form of cropped clothes and flared jeans. DIY looks are created with pieced-together materials and raw edgings. Double denim is a stylish statement with stylings of formal jackets and jeans.

It diminishes the Diesel trend and goes for a more anti-treatment style. Traditionalist shapes look chic and are paired with A-line mini dresses and long-line coats. Wide-leg jeans can be paired with a turtle neck knit for a winter 70’s look, as high-waist outlines and shirt collars restored the appearance of the decade.
