I know you been hearing the “hot girl summer” catchphrase everywhere. As I define this catchphrase, is for a confident woman loves to have fun, and takes care of her body well. As per my last post, I’m on a mission to start eating and drinking healthier. I’ve finished my cleanse and want to continue on the path of intaking filling liquids. So I can eat in portions throughout the day. I came across a cute portable blender and decided to use it to prep my smoothies for breakfast.

The portable blender is a great travel size to not only make sure you have breakfast in the morning but if you want to drink something before you go to the gym. The portable blender I use for this recipe comes with six blades of stainless steel for fruit mixing and its USB rechargeable. Most importantly, it is BPA free. If you are not sure what BPA is, it means Bisphenol A. This is usually in the hard plastic bottles many people use every day. It can imitate the body’s hormones, and it can interfere with the production and elimination of natural hormones. Another bonus you can have your smoothie blend all in twenty seconds this is important if your a gal on the go like me.

I came across easy recipes since I’m just starting to shift my diet slowly. Please don’t expect to see chia seeds, wheatgrass shot or matcha powder for this hot girl summer recipe. As again, this is for the ideal women who are starting to switch to a healthier lifestyle. No advance ingredients, well at least not yet.

My hot girl summer smoothie consists of pineapple, mango, banana, lime, and almond milk. You can cut the fresh fruit into small tidbits. Or you can make your life easier and purchase the fruits in a frozen bag. Not only does it help save time in cutting, but it also gives your smoothie that nice icy thick texture. Also, the frozen fruits tend to be full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, and freezing “locks in” many of their nutrient.

Fair warning the smoothie will taste a bit tart. I use a whole fresh lime. You can also use a drop or two of lime juice. It is coming out more bitter than you expected you could add honey or use brown sugar for healthy sweeter options. I love using this recipe with almond milk. However, you can substitute the plant-base milk for coconut water too. Not only is the smoothie filling, but it is also super refreshing after a hot summer day.
