The saying goes, you’re never fully dressed without a smile.  However,  often consuming tooth-staining food and beverages may lead to teeth not looking as bright as can be. Which I will admit I’m guilty of and to get desirable pearly whites I usually whiten my teeth at home. If you visited this site before, you know I try different trends such as the activated charcoal and whitening gel strips to achieve the extra-white teeth look. The latest trend I’m trying is the LED Teeth Whitening.

I dread every time I go to the dentist’s office. My hands get sweaty just thinking about sitting laid back on the dentist office chair. My dentist always suggests I should try professional teeth whitening, although my teeth are not yellow. Every time I hear the cost, I cringe, knowing the procedure is temporary, I politely decline every single time. I’m consistently whitening my teeth at home. For more than half of the price and I’m usually pretty happy with the results.

Eyeing the LED Teeth Whitening on various social media platforms for a while now, and I finally got my hands on the kit from My Smile. The kit includes:

  • An LED Accelerator
  • Three packs of 3ML teeth whitening gel syringes
  • Syringe caps to cover the gel
  • A Mouth Tray

Before I use the kit, I brush my teeth and rinse it to make sure nothing gets in the way of the process. As I open the package I wonder what the point of the LED light for teeth whitening is, is there a purpose or is it to look cool. The light itself helps to speed up the whitening process by activating the ingredients in the gel through heat. The light is not as crucial as the gel. A light system affects short term whiteness, while the gel can have long term effects.

The kit comes with easy to follow instructions. The first thing to do is to remove the battery from the LED Accelerator snd pop it back in to turn it on. It has a removable plastic cover, and the battery is not the typical battery Triple-A or Double-A you can purchase at the store. If the battery dies, I believe I will have to buy a new kit. Spoiler alert, I use the equipment for a week-long, and the battery did not die, yay!

Afterward, attach the mouth tray to the LED light. It took a few minutes for me to figure this out the mouthguard was not gripping to the LED accelerator, but then I got the hang of it. The next step is to take the syringe fill with gel and squeeze 0.5 on the top and bottom of the mouth tray. The gel came out quickly from the syringe.

Once set, press the center button of the LED accelerator. By pressing the button, it automatically times the whitening process for ten minutes. To test if the timing was correct, I also set the timer on my cellphone. The timing of the accelerator is accurate.

Once the time is up, simply remove the tray (be careful I drool every time I did this, I recommend to remove over your bathroom sink. Then rinse your mouth, repeat the process for about a week. To see my LED Whitening Teeth in action check the video out below.
