Its been a while since I’ve posted a new article. We are still in pandemic crisis, and like you, I’m making the best out of this crazy situation we are in. To lift my spirits, I got ready with a black smokey glitter eye to go nowhere. In addition to creating this look, I will want to go over an exciting update that will come soon to the site.

Before creating the black smokey glitter eye, I prepared my face with a bit of skincare. Always protect your skin from wearing pounds of makeup to make sure your skin doesn’t break out like crazy afterward. First things first, treating my lips with a handmade chocolate lip scrub. It makes for an excellent exfoliator for dry, cracked lips. It easily removes dead skin and also provides nourishment for soft lips. Another bonus with the chocolate lip scrubs its edible. No need to run to the bathroom sink and rinse it off, lick the scrub off your lips and good to go. The lip scrub doesn’t only come in the chocolate flavor; there are other flavors on my Esty shop, Water Bruja.

In terms of discussing the lip scrub from my business, I recently interviewed Instagram live with @SPARKLINGCARLA. In the interview, a friend of mine (Ash Kash) requested to add a spiritual section to the blog. I believe this is a great idea to inform you more about chakra healing, crystals and explain how I come up with the idea of making handmade reiki infused items and explaining how it all relates. So stay tuned for a new section I will create, spirituality” soon.

Following the lip scrub, I grab an eye serum from a cruelty-free company, Beekman 1802. The illuminating eye serum helps depuffs and aids dark under-eye circles. I always feel instant moisture while applying the eye serum. The only con is the eye serum, not one hundred percent vegan. The critical ingredient comes from goats milk.

The final skincare product I use before creating this black smokey glitter eye look is a serum from Tony Moly. The serum comes in a teeny-tiny bottle and may look familiar from a previous blog post. The critical ingredient is vitamin C, and that is precisely what my skin needs. This magic in the bottle helps elasticity, combat discoloration by slightly brightening, hydrating, and nourishment.

Now comes the fun part, applying the makeup. First, I concentrate on my eyebrow, which I usually thread at a salon, and I didn’t go to the salon since before COVID-19. I don’t wax it because my eyebrows are super sensitive and prone to breakouts. Since I’ve been tweezing as much as I can, there are some gaps in between my eyebrows. To fill the gaps in, I use Maybelline Tattoo Studio Brow Pomade in the shade deep brown. After filling the eyebrows I help outline it by applying concealer, the concealer I use is Black Radiance True Complexion HD corrector in shade yellow.

After outlining the brows with the concealer, I use the same concealer to prime the eyeshadow. To create the cut eye, I use “Emboss” from the Violet Voss rainbow palette. After perfecting this, I continue using this shade onto the rest of the eyelids. I also use it for the water eye.

Makeup is all about connecting the dots; my partner laughs as I said this out loud. In terms of continuing to discuss my life update, my partner, who also call my partner in crime, we finish celebrating our second anniversary. I call her my partner in crime because she helps me out in my business by packaging the orders, and any help goes a long way. Another anniversary to celebrate is my blogiversery. I believe I made five or six years, I’m up to a point I lost count, not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

Let’s get back to creating the eye look. To help prep adding glitter, want to make sure the cut crease is tacky enough. Of course, adding glitter glue will help, but using a liquid eyeliner first will help define and keep everything in place. The black liquid eyeliner I use is from Sephora. The name is Long Lasting Eyeliner High Precision Brush. After applying the glitter glue on top of the liner. The glitter glue is from IZ Me New York. Now the eyes are tacky enough for the glitter I use an unbranded holographic glitter. After applying the glitter to make the eye pop, even more, spread the opulent white shadow from the same Violet Voss palette in shade pearl slightly right on top of the lashes. To complete the eye look apply lashes.
