Hard Seltzers have been trending with the Truly and White Claw of the world, but I haven’t really seen a Hemp Seltzer until now with Kaló. Personally, I’m not a big fan of the hard seltzer. Since Kaló is flavored and hemp-infused, I’m willing to give it a try. I did a taste test of the Kaló variety pack. The pack contains four flavors: Lemon Lavender, Strawberry Watermelon, Pomegranate Peach, and Raspberry Lime.

The drinks are good for starting your day, focusing at work, enjoying a break, mix it in a drink, or simply trying new things. Bonus facts are the drinks contain no artificial sweeteners and gluten-free. If you worry about your calories, the range is from 15 calories to 20 calories. The drinks contain no more than 20mg, and yes, there is a distinct smell if you are holding your nose near the can. If you wonder if the hemp smell is extremely potent is not, but you can distinguish the difference between an infused and non-hemp seltzer.

The first flavor drink I test is pomegranate peach. Immediately it reminds me of Arizona bottled drinks that are often sold in the New York corner grocery stores. I wouldn’t say I like ice tea, so I never really drink the Arizona drinks, but the hemp seltzer doesn’t taste like ice tea is more of a watery taste. Although it did remind me of the Arizona drinks, it wasn’t horrible; it was quite refreshing.

The next flavor drink I try is Rasberry Lime. I couldn’t quite get what the taste reminds me of right away. It took a few sips, and then it hit me, candy! A few sips after that, a more specific candy jolly rancher. The third flavor drink I try is Strawberry Watermelon, and surprisingly it tastes like an actual drink. This flavor is definitely more powerful than the others, and since I do like my drinks strong, I’m not complaining at all.

The last and final flavor drink is Lemon Lavender. This flavor, in particular, is the one I’m most excited for. I never had a lavender flavor drink before. I’m also a huge fan of lavender itself because I use it a lot. For example,  I incorporate lavender essential oil in my diffuser; I even use it in my handmade sleep spray. It is one of the main ingredients I use in most of my products for my shop, Water Bruja.

Now taste test time! The first sip really made my taste buds happy. It gave me seven up’s vibes just slightly sweeter. It is quite lemony (if that is even a word); however, I couldn’t really distinguish the lavender taste. Although I couldn’t really figure out the lavender taste, the flavor was my favorite out of the four.

I also wanted to wait and see how I felt the morning after. I did not feel high at all, but I did sleep like a baby; however, I did not wake up drowsy. I’m fact I felt the focus on doing a deep clean in my bathroom. I even did dishes and laundry and wasn’t exhausted from doing so—Intriguing me to try the Kaló hemp-infused drinks again, and I admit it does help me focus on things better and sleep through the night, a win-win situation.
