Near the end of every month, I like to have a full detox session. The key to my detox session is using bentonite clay from Mary Tyler Naturals. I suggest doing it on #selfcaresunday or any other day; you have time off to hang out around your home. It is a natural way to help absorb the toxins from your face, hair, and skin and remove the impurities.

The first thing you want to do is purchase a bentonite clay. The reason I’m such a fan of Mary Tyler Naturals clay it’s all NATURAL! No chemicals, fillers binders or additives added. You can also tell it is the real deal by the grey color texture. The color is essential to the surface is critical. If you purchase a bentonite clay from another brand and is white, it may include harsh chemicals and is poor quality. You wouldn’t want to use that on your skin or hair because it will possibly cause more problems than helping.

After you receive the clay is great to mix it with apple cider vinegar and water. The apple cider helps make the clay not runny on your face and when it combines. The benefits include:

  • Helps Get Rid Of Dandruff
  • Freshen Hair In Between Washes
  • Help Aid In Removing Acne
  • Unclog Pores
  • Helps Relieve Itching

Another beneficial factor of using the bentonite clay contains natural minerals such as calcium, manganism, and iron. The con of using the apple cider vinegar is the harsh smell. To help, you can use essential oils. I’m using jojoba oil because this particular oil is excellent for the skin and hair too and smells terrific.

Bentonite Clay Detox Time!

Let’s start by applying the clay mask on your hair. You will want to start at your roots and work through the scalp. After you massage through the scalp, you can use the remaining clay for the rest of the hair. I strongly advise using this treatment once a month. The reason being its such an intense treatment you can’t do it weekly.

Once the mask is fully applied to your hair, you can use the remainder of the clay and apply it evenly on your face. That is the second way I detox. For the third way, I use it for soaking in the bath. I add bath salt and lavender oil, and it leaves my skin super soft and helps me sleep through the night. You can help store your clay bath mix in a mason jar for later use.

Now, all you have to do is wait for the mask to dry up and rinse. I first start the face, removing the mask with lukewarm water. Afterward, you can remove the mask from the hair with the shampoo and conditioner you usually use. Warning it will leave a mess in your bathtub. However, your only doing this treatment once a month so it’s all good.
