Let me start by saying, wow, what an insane year! From the racial and social justice to the main star of the show, coronavirus. The coronavirus disease took a domino effect on the global economy. Numerous organizations of every size and across all industries experience a disruption in one way or another. It also leads to a worldwide effect of forcing people to adjust to new personal and professional challenges. Overall I believe we can all say is a transformative year. On a brighter note, we are blessed with a new year.  There is a whole new year full of possibilities. For that reason alone, I decided not to just lay down in the living room in my pajamas to watch the ball drop (no shame if you did). I decided to get dress up and welcome in the new year, ready with a positive mindset.

Before I get the new Year ready, outfit-wise, I fell in love with the one-piece pant set look I wore the previous new year. I decided to wear a similar look this year but with a glam touch.  When one hears the word glam, it usually associates itself with sparkly fabrics. The fabrics that first come to mind are sequins, satin, and rhinestone mesh. However, a fabric can be glam without the touch of sparkle; the fabric I’m talking about is lace. Now lace, speaking for myself, of course, is more of the glamorous fabric I favor.

The perfect lace pant leg romper does exist, and I got mine from the flawless closet. The jet black romper comes with a detailed choker neckline. I honestly adore the neckline because you really don’t need to wear any accessories. Simple studs or a pair of hoop earrings will do; I went with a gold pair of square hoops. In reality, if the world was back to normal, a lace romper like this one will be a show stopper to any room. That doesn’t mean that one shouldn’t dress up as such when no one is looking around. I’m going to try and remember to dress up more the next time I grab a t-shirt and sweats to start my day.

When I do tend to wear pants is more on the skinny leg trend. The black lace romper is more of a bell-bottom flare. It’s been quite some time since I wore something with more of an open leg. However, it is not the only reason I was afraid to put it on.  I’m standing at five feet and three inches and believe this look is not really flattering on short women. On the contrary, as soon as I put this one-piece lace ensemble on, it took me by surprise. It fit perfectly, and the leg style did not affect the height at all.

Usually, with an eye-catching outfit, I will keep my makeup on a more natural side. However, New Years’, and since I tone down the sparkling look on the clothes, I can add glitter to my eyes. For glitter color, I was inspired by my nails. If you follow my social channels, @sheismelrose, you saw I recently got my nails done, and its influence is from the lapis lazuli crystal.
