I recently got my hands on new cosmetics, and one of the products stood out to me. It is an eye and cheek palette from Buxom. The palette explains what each powder base is. For example, the powder name, “Take A Dip,” is for shading the brow bone and so on. It reminds me of how I used to do my makeup. I always follow the palette directions to make sure I was putting on makeup properly, I laugh about it now, but it did help me learn. It inspired me to recreate how I used to do my makeup.

When I first started using makeup, I only use red lipstick or lip gloss. I purchased two coconut oil-based lip glosses from Belle Melange Beauty. It has been a super long time since I left out the apartment with a simple gloss, and the belle melange beauty glosses are perfect. The glosses packaging are out-of-this-world. Not only does a mirror to make it easy to apply, but it has also led lighting—no need to find the flash on your cellphone when it’s too dark, making it hassle-free. I legit use it all the time now.

The beauty of supporting small businesses not only does the business owner does a happy dance with each sale, but some of them also add a little freebie. The added freebie is a sign of saying thank you for the support. Belle Melange Beauty gave me a travel size freebie. It is the LA Colors Bold Lash mascara. I’ve been rocking a lot of falsies lately. However, since I’m going with an old school look, I’m applying only the mascara.

The following new cosmetic is a powder-based foundation. The powder foundation is nostalgic because it reminds me of when I first try to use the foundation. Fast forward to now, I only use liquid foundation. L’oréal Paris sent me their “Infalliable 24 Hour Fresh Wear” foundation in a powder to review. I decided to cheat on my liquid foundation for a little bit and give the powder a try. As I gave it a try, I notice it set nice on my skin, and the shade 245 honey was the perfect one for my skin tone. It feels light and airy, and it doesn’t feel like I have too much makeup on.

The last product was another one I received to review, as I mentioned before; it is the eye and cheek palette from Buxom. The name of the palette is White Russian. I did like how it explains what each powder base is for. However, the powders themselves were not really pigmented. It took several tries to put on. When trying a new palette, I usually swatch the different colors on my arm to see how it will show up on my skin. The powders themselves didn’t really transfer through only the darker shades. Although I’m not excited about the palette I did create a simple makeup look and I did like the final result.
